a pmf thanksgiving

the kids spent several days with their grandparents before colin and i made it up there for thanksgiving. they spent most of their days in the varmints' roost having a total blast.

they also had their run of the land and enjoyed cruising around on the scooters!

mark told colin than he could have as much wood as he could cut. colin spent most of the day on wednesday with his chainsaw in the woods. the above pic is only a portion of his haul.

this cute little guy was one of many created by leanne and was absolutely delicious! (strawberry cake balls are a weakness of mine).

mark grilled some steaks and mom made some sides to create a fabulous dinner.

although the aggies lost to the horns 27-25, they ended the long time rivalry in a classy way...

it was a wonderful, relaxing thanksgiving!

traditions

it is a tradition of the rothingtons to have at least one game each season that we attend as couples. we have been doing this for 17 years!

these guys have been friends since birth...and still like each other!

let it be known that one of the four of us reads, leaves the game to shop, and occasionally shouts out something during the game that usually makes no sense at the time but it is obvious that she has overheard someone else shouting it at one time or another. regardless, it is always great fun and something i look forward to each season.

as always, we won halftime! we also won the game vs. kansas 66-6. whoop!

bug hunters

these two crazies were heading outside about 9 pm one evening. i asked them what they were doing and they replied, "bug hunting."

jr. high basketball

mackenzie had her first jr. high basketball game on monday. the whole team played well and they won their game! she is really starting to enjoy basketball and we love watching her.

halloween was such a great time this year. we went trick or treating (jack's first time) and played games at the church afterwards.

poffster's wedding

colin and i used to work with the youth at our church in houston. about a year ago we received a call from one of the girls that was in the youth group and she told us she was getting married and wanted colin to help officiate the wedding. we were so excited for the wedding date to arrive, to be a part of it and to see so many friends and loved ones.

such a fun day

a friend and i took our kiddos to fossil rim last week. we were one of about five people who decided to go that day. so....the animals were eager to see us!

they were so eager to see us that it made the boys a little nervous.

a dream come true

moving to meridian has been a blessing in so many ways. the church is fabulous, lots of fishing, great schools, hog hunting, and more. recently, one of my friends purchased some horses and wanted me and my kiddos to help her take care of them. i have wanted a horse for as long as i could remember and this may be as close as i get. so i am thankful for the opportunity.

i think mackenzie loves them almost as much as i do!

a win-win situation

yes, i am aware that i am about a month late on this post, but not documenting this monumental day would be very un-mother-like. jackson started preschool the beginning of september. he loves it and i have almost 12 hours a week to myself!

family vacation

due to the unusually high heat in texas and the fact that i always choose a beach vacation, colin decided we were gonna head to the mountains this summer. we went to gunnison, colorado for a week and had some great family time.

we went hiking

goofed around

rode the ski lift, played mini golf, went rock climbing and did a euro-bungee

and, as always, found some time to fish!

the weather was wonderful and just being in the midst of God's creation was at times overwhelming.

mexico mission trip #4

in my opinion, this was the best mission trip yet. we had a fantastic combination of people from fbc and grace that went to doctor arroyo.

during the day we ministered at the hospital and in homes of local church families.

in the afternoon, we organized vbs in some villages outside of doctor arroyo. we had bi-lingual worship services and at the end of the day walked in town for some 'helado' (ice cream), nachos con todo (ultimate nachos) or hamburguesas (hamburgers).

one day we went to real de catorce, the town where they filmed "the mexican," and shopped and fellowshipped with the group.

as always, jackson looked "extra clean."
