more dove hunting

we went hunting again on friday - its pretty great that we can hunt within 3 minutes of our house

we only shot 5 birds, but had fun just being together

 and shane learned how to field dress a dove

cross country chicks

mackenzie made the varsity cross country team this year

 they had their first meet on wednesday and kenz ran 2 miles in 15min, 3 secs

 the girls cooled off in the water after the meet

during the junior high portion of the race, a deer came out of the woods and hit one of the runners.  she

was not injured, but it certainly took her by surprise.  now thats cross COUNTRY!

kenz and i had the opportunity to go to another aggie game and invite a couple of friends.  we had a great day of watching the aggies, shopping and eating everything we could get our hands on.  i am serious when i say i'm not sure i can afford to feed these two teenagers for long periods of time.

 they ate chickfila, french fries, ice cream of the future, 

corn dog, kettle corn, snow cones, cokes, fajita nachos,  fajita tacos, chicken nuggets and a cheeseburger.

 we did not eat half as much as they did!

it was fun just hanging out with the girls for the day.

inaugural dove hunt

 we had such a great time this morning on our first dove hunt.

tree house project

the kiddos have been wanting Colin to build a tree house for a while.  

 so, we are starting a new "family project" (please note the absence of most 

of the family in these pictures) (please also note the absence of any trees 

attached - thereby making it more of a fort).

 i had fun working with this guy and learned many new things. 

 reese was the official photographer for this project.

 this is documented so that i will forever remember my first time using a power tool.

we have a long way to go, but the project has officially started.

aggie football

we had the opportunity to go to an aggie game as a family this year and everyone wanted to go.  

while we were there, mackenzie and reese really wanted to visit the a&m campus library .  lucky for them, colin knew just where it was located.  

the kiddos were amazed at the enormous number of books.

 as it turns out, it was even bigger than the four-story library that we remembered.

they now have a skywalk to a library annex. 

although it wasn't my idea, it was pretty neat stuff!
