vacation to glenwood springs

we had a great vacation to glenwood springs, colorado

the master planner scheduled a fantastic week of activities such as riding the alpine slide... 

and going on a few thrill rides

 even oma went on the roller coaster at the top of the mountain

 we went on some beautiful hikes

and took an all-terrain vehicle tour...

it was a total blast and the views were gorgeous

we went swimming in a hot springs pool

walked to dinner every evening

 hiked some more...and ate mountain raspberries

 this lake was at the top of one of the hikes...so clear and beautiful

we rode a cog train to the top of pike's peak

 it was really cold and you could see 4 states from the top

we also went white water rafting...but have no pics of that because we didn't want to get the camera wet.  another great vacation to end the summer!

boom boom Bible study

you might be a redneck if you go to a church that has

 a skeet shoot/Bible study...but it sure is fun

 the girls wanted to try it out too.  so, we had a mommy/daughter shotgun shooting day.

hail, hail the gang's all here!  we were finally reunited with our old friends from houston for a camping reunion.  here are some pics...

well, i have been training several months for the longest run in my lifetime.  

 looking back, i have run 291 miles since march to prepare for my first half marathon

 here we are before the race... 

and after...exhausted, but we accomplished our goal

visiting family

this summer we traveled many miles to see family

 the kids each spent a week with oma

 then we went to celina

 we had a pool party

 and did a little fishing 

and sight seeing

 then we went to pawnee for a 50th wedding celebration for my aunt and uncle

 and got to see some cousins

and participated in snake removal

 then we headed to tulsa for some more fun with cousins, more frozen treats 

and another pool party

we LOVED seeing our extended family.  (colin was not able to be with us because of work).  so i headed back home to be with my hubby and the kids headed to missouri to spend a week with granny and grandpa mac (not pictured because i left my camera in my suitcase the entire time i was in tulsa...sorry)

 the doctor said that it was past time for this kid to get glasses!

 my guess is breaking the school reading record had something to do with it!

she does look awfully cute though.

community rehab

our church went to a small town in texas to work on some houses of families in need.  

 the house that my team worked on replaced the roof, repaired various siding issues, cleaned the yard, replaced the door and painted the exterior of the the house.  in doing so, we were also able to share the gospel with the homeowner. 

 we met some wonderful people from other towns and had a tiring, 

but great week serving the Lord 

tis the season

if i were ever to be executed, this just may be my execution meal...

simply dee-licious!!
