awards this week

 this morning i had the priveledge of coaching the girls in their first 4H horse quiz bowl competition. 

reese's team won 1st place!

 and mackenzie's team won 3rd!

also this week, mackenzie was inducted into the national junior honor society for academic achievement and outstanding character.  if you look closely on mackenzie's left shoulder, you can see the n.j.h.s. pin she was given upon membership.

yep!  i'm one proud momma!



watching nature

 a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to explore some of our friend's property.  mackenzie took some pics that i wanted to share. 

while exploring, the girls also found some of these caterpillars.  we brought 4 of them home and were able to to watch them make a chrysalis.  so far, two of them have emerged into monarchs...so cool!

my sweet hubby suprised me with a new tackle box and a dozen beautiful white roses.  love him!!!

4th grade field trip

 reese's class went to austin yesterday for a field trip.  we went to the texas state museum and to the capitol building.  actually, reese and i did not go to the capitol because she started feeling lousy.
