pics from the week

these girls, along with the rest of their class won the spirit contest at school for the first time this year. 

 they were so excited!

 mackenzie is one of the shortest girls in her class and doesn't believe it when i say she is growing.  this week we made her try on her ski outfit that fit her perfectly 2 years ago.  this is my "i told you so" picture.  

these two guys were asked to spot and announce the football game on friday night.  they did a great job! and i thought they looked super-cute in the press box. 

first and sixth day of school

okay, so i totally forgot first day of school pics this year.  so, here are the kiddos are on their way to school:  jack is going to his first day, the girls on their sixth day of school. 

 they love driving with the top off the jeep.  in fact, jack told his oma 

that i took him to school with no top on!

a special day

 reese was baptized on sunday and many of our friends and family came in to celebrate the special
occasion with us. here are some highlights...

 we went to the park on saturday for some swimming

 and canoeing

 oma found a cool place in the shade and colton thought it was a good spot too

lots of food, friends and family

 

and a little go cart time.

 after the weekend was over, paw paw stayed for a few extra days.  we spent one day hiking around the entire lake at the state park.

we saw some really pretty scenery and had a great time!

family vacation

family vacation was so fun this year!  we went to alabama and spent the week at the beach.

 we had some great family time

 fed the seagulls

 played putt-putt...on this hole, both my boys got a hole in one

 ate at some yummy restaurants

 took a boat ride

 watched the dolphins play

received some lessons in marine life

captain jack was excited to navigate us for a while

 we saw some amazing sunsets

 enjoyed God's creation

  the weather and scenery were perfect

 we fed some more seagulls

 dug some holes

 made some sand creations

and surfed the waves on our boogie boards. 

 it was truly a relaxing, rejuvenating, fun-filled family vacation.
