oma's bday

oma drove up to meridian to celebrate her 70th birthday with us! 

 colin and the kiddos made her two cakes for the occasion.

one of them was a bit colorful inside.

as always, it was great seeing oma and playing games with her.

the sunrise often takes my breath away and reminds me of God's faithfulness!  i love that we are able to see this beauty from our backyard.

jack and his bike

 for his birthday a couple of weeks ago, jackson got a bicycle.  we let him pick it out himself and he was so excited that he rode the bicycle to the front of the store and then all the way out to the car. 

due to weather and hectic schedules, he hasn't had much time to ride the bike.  but, as soon as he did, he took off!  after about 10 minutes of riding he came to me and said, "mom...i think i've got this down now...can we take the training wheels off?"

we still have not taken the training wheels off, but i love his confidence!
