aggie football

we had the opportunity to go to an aggie game as a family this year and everyone wanted to go.  

while we were there, mackenzie and reese really wanted to visit the a&m campus library .  lucky for them, colin knew just where it was located.  

the kiddos were amazed at the enormous number of books.

 as it turns out, it was even bigger than the four-story library that we remembered.

they now have a skywalk to a library annex. 

although it wasn't my idea, it was pretty neat stuff!

if any of you needed proof that these are my children...here it is!  it is the second day of school and the temperature is supposed to be in the high 80s today.  All of my kids showed up this morning at 

the breakfast table with their hoodies on.  they all wanted to take jackets to 

school because it was too cold in their classrooms!

summer vacation

we had a super-fun family vacation a couple of weeks ago to end the summer with a bang.  as an added bonus, oma was able to go with us.  colin did all the planning for the trip and did a masterful job. 

we spent much of our time at the beach...

we went to a dolphin show...and saw otters, penguins, a sea turtle and sea lions

somebody got thirsty

we went on a pirate ship...the kids got some booty from the trip

everyone spent some time building our crab trap/sand castle

i caught some tenants for the castle...9 blue crabs and 3 hermits

and Oma and the grandkids got to spend some quality time together

not pictured was the offensive amount of excellent sea food we ate!
