scarborough fair

granny and grandpa mac came in this weekend for a visit. granny thought it would be a good idea to head to waxahachie for the scarborough fair. we had no idea what we were getting into.

we saw many interesting people and things including but not limited to:

a fire-breathing guy that juggled things

a glass blowing demonstration

and a "birds of prey" demonstration.

there was also jousting, a wide variety of foods to eat and camel and elephant rides.

granny treated the kids to an elephant ride.

a fun time was had by all!

colin was presented a "man card." by one of the renaissance men. for letting his mother-in-law hold on to the map.

more fishing...shocking

jack and i took some of our friends fishing this week. as soon as we arrived at the fishing hole jack asked for his pole while i unloaded. before i finished unloading he had already caught one! he ended up catching 14 fish all by himself. i am one proud momma!!

good monday

our school got off the monday after easter instead of good friday. so, for good monday we packed a picnic and headed to the state park with some friends. i typically try to avoid the water until it really warms up in july, but these kiddos could wait no longer.

4 hours of sun and swimming make for good sleeping that night!

although there was a considerable amount of griping, i finally got the kiddos dressed and outside to take the annual easter pictures.

they realized it was much quicker and easier than they anticipated.
