simply fondue Christmas dinner

yes, you read that correctly...Christmas dinner.  in lieu of Christmas presents, we 

decided to all go out to a nice restaurant for dinner sometime after the holidays.  

unfortunately, our schedules were so hectic that the end of march was the 

soonest we could do it.  but what a deliciously good time we had!

so...mackenzie is also involved in one act play this year.  the play is called "mill on the floss" and she has a significant role as maggie2 and a smaller part as lucy. 

 she never wears make-up, but had to wear make-up and color her hair black for the play

 at their district competition on saturday, mackenzie and her friend both made all-star cast

peru mission trip

colin, mackenzie and i went to peru during spring break for a mission trip.  due to their age, reese and jack were not allowed to go and so they stayed with their oma.  the trip was fantastic and i would return in a heartbeat!

 we performed a skit and presented the gospel at several different locations

including a catholic school.

 we crammed into busses, vans, and mototaxis to get where we needed to go.

 one day we went to a beach that only the locals know about.

 we found a swimming area

 and it had a spot to jump of the rocks

 the scenery was stunning

 although you can't see it from this distance, there was a bunch of trash in the water.  the trash was abundant in peru, but the trash cans were few and far between.

 colin fell in love with this little beauty...she went right to him.

 we prayed for people and passed out Bibles and tracts everywhere we went

 lauren took us to a market so we could sample some local fruits

 this is a local water park that was really fun

 several of us bought some colorful pants!

tennis

mackenzie decided she would try out for tennis this year and she made the varsity team.  she played in the district tennis tournament at tarleton university last week and i finally seized the opportunity to take a few action shots of her. 

she played in the girls' doubles division

 they did not advance to the finals, but she played well and it was a fun experience for her.
