soccer season is upon us

soccer games started last week and i have yet to post about it. we are driving 25 minutes to practice each week because these girls love to play soccer. each of them has a good friend on the team and they are having fun. it is a bit more competitive than upward, so this may be a learning season for them. i captured a couple of pics from the games this last week. both of the girls' teams won their game.

happy belated b-day

my hubby turned 40 this week! he wasn't too thrilled about his birthday this year, but not because of how old he is getting or the few grey hairs sprouting up. the stomach bug swept through our family the week before his birthday. and much to his dismay, he got sick the day before the 4-0 arrived. as you can see in the picture, we separated the cupcake that had the candle he blew out from all the other ones to prevent contamination. doesn't he look excited? thanks aunt leanne for the delicious cupcakes.

happy birthday reese!!

reese celebrated her birthday this weekend with a few of her friends from school. her one request was that she be able to go swimming since it has been such a long time. so...we loaded up and went to waco to stay at a hotel with a pool. we had the best time and managed to get everyone in bed before midnight. however, we had a rude awakening at 1:30 am when the hotel fire alarm went off. we had to evacuate the hotel for about half an hour. the kiddos were troopers and seemed to actually enjoy the excitement.

new boots

who doesn't love a new pair of boots?? jack man was so excited to get new boots that he put them on when he was dripping wet - right after taking a shower. he has worn them every day since...naked, in his jammies, with sweat pants, jeans, undies or whatever he feels like.

judging from this picture, he must think the boots give him some sort of super power.
